Changing Times

Please read this message from the Pay-It-Forward-House Director, Tracy Kelsey:

Dear Pay-It-Forward House Supporter,

If you haven’t already heard the news, Kindred Hospital, Sycamore, has announced it has filed an intent to close in early 2025 (https://www.shawlocal.com/daily-chronicle/2024/10/27/kindred-hospital-in-sycamore-could-close-in-six-months/). If this does happen, it will have a significant impact on Pay-It-Forward House, as Kindred is our primary hospital partner.

Until we have more definitive information regarding Kindred’s closure and can make an informed decision on our own future, we have decided to stop all fundraising activities. We have the funding reserves to allow us to continue serving guests with hotel stays in the interim. We remain committed to serving families in need from Kindred, Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital, and Northwestern Kishwaukee Cancer Center until a final decision is made.

At this time, we will not be conducting our Adopt-A-Day campaign for 2025. If things change with Kindred’s status, we are confident that our supporters will rally around us, as you always have, to support the need. In the meantime, our Board of Directors will consider all options and possibilities concerning the future of Pay-It-Forward House.

With sincere thanks for all your support and good wishes,

Tracy, Lisa, and the Pay-It-Forward House Board of Directors
